I just recently moved back to the Rocky Mountains after living in the temperate Midwest for a couple years and a couple days ago I froze my feet skiing so bad, I had pain shooting up my legs for a good half hour once I got inside! Had to jump around the house like a goon to get them back to normal :)Sarah V.http://www.aperfectflake.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18615538.post-85100781125476179462012-12-21T23:02:22.339-07:002012-12-21T23:02:22.339-07:00However, I never lived in a cold part of Alaska. My blood has never been "thick." :)Jill Homerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02983065990450931943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18615538.post-84713223551898765152012-12-21T19:59:14.189-07:002012-12-21T19:59:14.189-07:00The days only get longer from here though :) I ju...The days only get longer from here though :) I just returned from winter camping in the snow for a few days and had the same realization: California has made me one big pussy.Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01212228308225991239noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18615538.post-79408622243189543302012-12-21T19:53:49.536-07:002012-12-21T19:53:49.536-07:00Funny (in a sad way) how quickly you adapt to a ne...Funny (in a sad way) how quickly you adapt to a new environment and your body forgets some of the hard-earned lessons of a harsher environment (I moved from Alaska to Hawaii many MANY years ago). And also how quickly the blood 'thins'. Have fun up in the Arctic in your annual freez-fest, and be safe up there!

And MERRY CHRISTMAS!Matthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10517087265569164625noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18615538.post-53761284692063949542012-12-21T19:32:57.422-07:002012-12-21T19:32:57.422-07:00Luv the winter. XC skiing along a river under a full moon, two inch high ice crystals growing up from the bank. A sweep of a ski pole sent a cascade of broken glass sparkling with moon beams into the silent dark void of the river. All I need to do is close my eyes and I'm there again.
Jill & Beat be careful and have fun. The snow sparkled like diamonds. Of course I had arctic gear on at the time and was toasty warm.Jerry Critterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01870618647449723147noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18615538.post-91049086270387632492012-12-21T13:29:11.214-07:002012-12-21T13:29:11.214-07:00Have a fantastic, safe trip!
