    28.
I remember 28 like it was yesterday. Well, 20 years of yesterday's!
I am surprised that you're back on the bike so soon. Seems like you would have had enough of that for awhile!

  3. Happy Birthday Jill! Enjoy it! I have 8 years on you. Although I started racing when I was 18, I didn't do my first 24 solo race until I was 26. Now 10 years later, I think I have plenty of ultra racing left in me.

I like your haiku, and the dewy berry bush.

Every day is a new beginning, eh? ;^)

  6. Happy Birthday Jill. Looking back at 28 seems like a lifetime ago (16 years). I was just starting out...but didn't know it at the time. My wife's birthday is also today, she's starting her 40th year on this planet.

  11. Jill,

Thanks so much for sharing your world with us. It's been great fun reading your adventures and we look forward to reading many more. Happy Birthday : )

Since my bank account has dried up with the purchase of this new computer, all I can give you at this time is four birthday Haiku's. Enjoy them as you would a can of cold diet pepsi at the end of a 140 mile ride.

    Best regards,
    Dave

(aka, VW crash Dave, who can now post to your blog because of his expensive new computer)

    it's my birthday, yes!

    brilliant bits of life
    caught in twenty eight moments
    joyful heart i have

    she caught the light
held it softly in cupped hands
    felt its fuzzy glow

    catch me dreaming
she said, and gave chase to

    Jill,

Forgot to mention this comment on my earlier Haiku Posting: LOVE your photo close-up. Wow. You have an eye for photography which is lucky for us ;-)

Hope this year is filled with all the best

  20. Happy Birthday Jill!

You've got a cracking blog here - it always make me want to go out and ride. That can only be a positive contribution to the cycling community!

I too am in my late 20's and feel like things are just getting going; particularly in terms of my bike riding.

I'll be taking part in my first 24hr enduro this January and have found a certain amount of inspiration for entering in the first place here. So thank you!

    All the best,

    Rob in Scotland
