Video blog: Blue Sky Gazing

Date: April 18 and 19
Mileage: 48 and 13.7
April mileage: 437.6
Temperature: 34 and 29

So instead of typing about my weekend, I thought I'd make another video blog. This one also didn't turn out the way I imagined it. I strapped my "helmet cam" way too high, so all of the cycling shots are basically blue sky and treetops. But I sprinkled some clips in because they help break up the blathering (don't worry. It's only six or seven minutes long.) I looked for a song that goes well with skygazing ... The Goldfinger cover of Nena's "99 Red Balloons." Someday I will get this video thing right. In the meantime ...

  1. It was a beautiful Autumn day here too. It was around 80 degrees. I went for a paddle in the kayak this morning and then went for a bike ride.
Your videos are great Jill. Thanks.

  2. Great ride! I enjoyed the spring here in CA too. Rode over the Dumbarton bridge around the south SF bay. Cold here too, never took off our jackets..

  3. How are you attaching your camera to your helmet?

  4. Hi Jill,

I was in the Army for eight years and tried like hell to get them to station me in Alaska. Your blog makes me all the more sad that they never did. If you don't mind, I'll check back regularly and live vicariously through you.

    Dave in Memphis.

  5. I'm convinced that you could read the words right out of a quantum physics textbook and I would be spellbound.

By the way, the 7 Seconds cover of "99 Red Balloons" (from their "Walk Together, Rock Together" album)is way better.

  6. Jill, I love that punk cover of '99 red balloons'. I have lots of other punk covers if you're interested.

  7. you're awesome.

and I agree with anon above, the 7 seconds version is better :D

  8. Amazing views. Just a question from a newbie here, how come you find so much time to ride? Do you do this for a living?
